September 25 will see the release of The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon and starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, & Tom Hiddleston. The Avengers was released in theaters on April 11, 2012 and was an instant hit. In the USA, the opening weekend grossed $207,438,708, setting a record. Worldwide, The Avengers has grossed $1,481,585,111.
This movie has become a fan favourite and the anticipation for the Blu-ray DVD release is high. To accommodate the excitement, there are four versions to be released on September 25 and a special ten disc version to be released after, (date TBA).
